Kiptopeke Part Deux

Posted on Friday 3 September 2004

So we’re off to Kiptopeke State Park again this weekend, this time with Neelima and Ravi. And once again, we’re the EXPERIENCED CAMPER couple. Scary scary stuff.

Last time I learned the hard way that the fields surrounding the park are infested by chiggers. (little tiny beasties that leave little bumps and itch infinitely worse than mosquito bites).. I will be prepared this time, oh yes.

Off to Target this eve to pick up a few things we forgot last time, like a tent fan (yes, I know, I know, but it was HER idea), tent light, some fire starter sticks (smells much better than lighter fluid), etc.

This time, we’re also going to bring our folding chairs…

Wish us luck, and that the hurricanes battering Florida don’t make things ugly for us, or too horribly awful for those poor bastards.

    Finally - an update!! ;-)
Good luck on your trip. Tell Neelima I said, “hi!” I think the tent fan is a good idea. A fan is a great way of keeping the bugs off your body if it’s close enough -I’m not sure about chiggers though - ewwwww. - Kathy

I do not take Pattie as the experienced camper. Rich must be the experienced one.
