A very dear friend of mine sent me a link to his Election 2004 site, which I’d like to share with you. David Wheeler’s “Support Kerry” site

Here’s an excerpt:

“There are so many reasons why this election is important to me, to all of us. The news just gets crazier every night. There is a growing sense of helplessness about our ability as a country to remain both safe and free, both strong and respected. Many have given up hope that we can turn things around. I say, that makes all the more reason for us to try.

I am frustrated not only with this Administration’s policies but with spiritual politics as well. I am a devout Christian who has resented the Republican kidnapping of my faith in recent years. Many Christians have mentally checked out of this election. They think they must vote Bush just because their pastor told them so. There is a spiritual myopia here, a sense that only one candidate is Christian and that because he is Christian, all of his acts must be righteous.
