Christmas, New Year’s Eve, First Day Back To Work! Two of these were wonderful, and I’m dreading the third with a foreboding unmatched in 2005. Of course that’s not saying much.
The holidays went very well, I’m very refreshed and relaxed, and I made out pretty darn good in terms of raw loot!
The trip to Knoxville was uneventful for the most part, but it was amusing to note that when Pattie drove the first leg it was raining heavily and wind gusts were blowing us around on the road. The moment I took over, the rain stopped, the winds died down, the sky cleared and sun emerged, and bluebirds began to sing. It was dramatic, and only enforced our opinion of her vs. my driving karma.
I managed to keep up my workouts over the christmas break, with the help of our friend Brent and his home gym and that of my parents’ home gym as well. By consistently working out according to my schedule, I managed to keep my Christmas and New Year weight gain to less than 50% of Thanksgivings, a total of only three pounds! (wince)… The new year of course brings new resolutions, and one of mine is to keep the muscle I’ve gained but shed the layer of grizzly fat I’ve accumulated on top of it. The goal is 45 minutes of cardio a day, contined lifting as I’ve been doing, weekly yoga with Pattie, and a healthier diet sans as much processed foods as possible. My goal is 190 lbs by our 5th anniversary.
I’ll detail some of the loot I picked up in another post, as well as some more day to day stuff that happened over break.
I’ll do my best to help you reach your goal, baby!
hmmm…”grizzly” fat …nice descriptive.
- just being a smart ass. hehe.
does that mean, like a grizzly bear? or like the gristle on a steak?
kat
I was thinking more in terms of winter hibernation, the biological necessity to garner unto one’s self a protective layer of heat retaining cellular structure.
…ahem.
