Finally settling into 05

Posted on Monday 10 January 2005

So my book “Creating Motion Graphics With After Effects” came today, and I’m very happy with it. I’ve dabbled in the program before and am familiar with its potential, but this book has a style of explanation that really works for me. I look forward to seeing how I can use it at Rey and for my own clients.

In other news I’ve made some more progress on one of my longer term projects, and added some detail to the face of the figure. It’s getting kinda creepy now.

In still OTHER news Friday Noah came over, true to his word, and proved his complete lack of pansiness. We did triceps and chest, and really banged out some good sets. So good I’m still a bit sore in the triceps today. This evening I did legs, and kept the reps at 8 like last week, while adding 10 lbs. So 4 sets of 8 @ 215lbs. This followed by 1 set of 6, lunges with 135 lbs (which HURT, and is why I didn’t do 8 here), and last did 2 sets of 6, stiff-legged deadlifts also at 135 lbs.

As far as cardio goes I’ve been building up since the new year and today did 35 minutes total, for about 515 calories burned. Getting there.

One of my gifts was a Kohl’s gift card and with it I purchased a new Black & Decker steamer. I’ve been steaming rice, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and tonight I got brave and did shrimp! It is working really well, and veggies taste SO MUCH BETTER done this way. Carrots are like candy, and broccoli is absolutely delicious. MOM, DAD, why didn’t you steam my veggies when I was stuck at the table hours after we finished dinner because I didn’t want to eat my Brussel Sprouts? :)

Tonight Pattie and I read chapter 5 in book 5 of A Series of Unfortunate Events. I read this time, and wished once again I was doing the illustrations. Ah, perhaps a certain kid’s book I know of will someday be illustrated by me. (Buster and Finn’s Big Move, anyone?)

Ahem. It’s Finn and Buster’s Big Move. Thanks for the plug, though. :)

How about you draw some illustrations (sketches) and Pattie will be inspired to write a story to it?
