Holes in the Wall

Posted on Thursday 7 July 2005

The number one issue with the a-frame was and still is: lighting… The architects were great designing the home, but when it came to lighting it they regressed to cave people. Flourescent lighting is everywhere, in most cases the bulbs are almost completely obscured by cedar boxes built around them. These boxes and light fixtures are attached to the wall by GLUE, as well as screws into the drywall and big butterfly clips. Removing the boxes is somewhat damaging to the walls, but removing the light fixtures is like taking a hammmer to the drywall. Here is a picture of the wall after removal of the box and fixtures, and the wonderful wiring that was left behind.
