Fishwife

Posted on Thursday 2 March 2006

I really should post the final from Stormclouds 3, and I will someday, when I’m less unmotivated to do so.

Here’s what I’m working on now:

Sometimes an idea will gestate for years… I’ll draw something, and put it away, and forget about it… for a long time. Then I’ll remember it, or come upon it in passing, and it clicks. There is a Fishmoon in a sketchbook somewhere, and now there is a Fishwife.

First, roughing in the basic shapes and composition, and putting in background tones, patterns, and swirling vague forms. I’m actually working this composition from all 4 positions, so I work some, then turn the board, work.. turn.. work, you get the idea.

Night 2, earlier… adding linear weight and some more value contrast, mapping contours and inner workings of major shapes.

Night 2, later… further prodding

My paints and brushes
