An update of what my brush has been up to since early December
Heroes
This is a series I envision lasting for about a year in terms of completion. It basically comes from the very human tendancy to really look up to your elders when you’re very young, and the sense of wonder at how heroic they seem. So wise, so knowledgeable… yet at the same time human themselves… Subject to doubt, hubris, fear, elation, seduction, glee, sadness, and death. It’s a snapshot in time as I see them, or as I saw them. It’s a glimpse at how everyone sees everyone else through a filter, blurring the details but (hopefully) getting a good look at the whole person.
First up, Dad
Pops, early to mid 70’s. Note the glorious locks, the bold spectacles, and the Olive Drab couture.
Jaded Mirth
Second, what is really the 2nd in the Jade series also fits here. This hot chica models for cheap. The following shots represent the days following the drawing phase - ie. duh… the painting phase.
